Description
10 000 Lire from Italy. Issued in 1994. Struck in Silver (.835). Measures 34 mm and weighs 22 g.
- Obverse
- Profile of a young woman with towered crown facing left, She has a big star of her forehead, and her hairs fading to the left in a banner with stars. Stripes on the right as a background. Star and stripes obviously are referred to the United States banner. (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- A terrestrial globe opened along the equatorial line as a box. The northern hemisphere is normal with geographical features, while the southern one is made in shape of a soccer ball. From the opened globe is coming out an olive branch on which is wound a ribbon with the names of the two finalist teams of the World Cup. In the field, at left of the composition are the value, and the mintmark, while the name on the author is on lower position.
