- Young female head facing right crowned with laurel symbolizing Italy. In her hairs are intertwined on the left the five Olympic circles, surmounted by a star. (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- Silhouette of the Statue of Liberty above numeric value. Behind the head of the statue is the Olympic Stadium while right on its torch is overlaid by the one of the torchbearer. Date behind the torchbearer, right at left of value. Name of the author is along the border of the stadium, together with the mint mark. (Atlanta XXVI Summer Olympics)
