- Crowned portrait of King Charles I left, denomination behind head, legend around, mintmark at 12 o'clock. Note: the falling lace collar is plain with broad lace border, no scarf. (Charles by the Grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland)

- Square-topped shield of arms over long cross fourchee, legend around, mintmark at 12 o'clock. Note: cross only to inner circle. (I reign under the auspices of Christ)
