Description
500 Lire from Italy. Issued in 1991. Struck in Silver (.835). Measures 32 mm and weighs 15 g.
- Obverse
- In center the head of a young woman facing, from whom eight stylized rays of the sun come out. Along the rim a selection of protected examples of flora and fauna are between the rays, as if drawing life blood from sun and men's care. Name of the autor below head. (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- A man, with outstretched arms at sides stands protecting a big oak. A vertical line cut the man and the tree in two, dividing the left, dying, from the right, flourishing again. Value and mintmark at right; date below.
- Edge
- "R.I." repeated three times between leaves and branches
