- Obverse
- Female head, representing Italy, with stylized floral and faunal elements in her hair is inserted in a square, symbol of protection. Name of the author below the base of the square, to the right. (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- Stylized protected animals and plants inserted in a square, right as in obverse. Outside the square there are four triangular symbols in cardinal positions, representing the four vital elements: fire, water, air and earth. At sides the mintmark (left) and the date (right). Value below.

- "R.I." repeated 3 times between stars and laurel
