Obverse
The coat of arms of Portugal with the country's name "REPÚBLICA PORTUGUESA" (Portuguese Republic) and the face value "2.5€" above. The year is at the bottom of the coat of arms. On the sides are the names of the engravers "BANDERIA - DELGADO" for José Bandeira and Nunes Delgado, and the letters "INCM" to mark the workshop.
Reverse
A submarine in the middle of the coin of the numeral "100" accompanied below by the legend "ANOS SUBMARINO ESPADARTE" (100 years of the submarine Espadon) and the dates "1913-2013".
