1 Escudo from Mexico. Issued from 1785 to 1788. Struck in Gold (.875). Measures 18.87 mm and weighs 3.38 g.
- Obverse
- Carlos 3rd large armored bust looking sight. Surrounded by legend and date at bottom. (Carlos 3rd King of Spain and the Indies by the grace of God)
- Reverse
- Crowned shield surrounded by chain. On the outer ring legend with mint and assayer's initials at bottom which are inverted for 118.2a and upright for 118.1a. (With happiness in both under the look of God)
