Crowned and armored half-figure of King Karl IX facing right, holding a raised sword and the Globus Cruciger. King is inside a rope circle with legend outside together with the radiant name of Jehovah in hebrew above King's head. (Karl IX, by the Grace of God, King of Sweden, of the Goths and the Wends)
Reverse
Crowned flat-topped shield with Greater Arms of Sweden (Three crowns of Sweden in first and fourth quadrant; Folkungs Lion in second and third; smaller shield with Vasa Arms in center), partially within a circle, divides date on either side. Value in letters outside the circle, along the rim.
