Crowned and armored half-figure of King Karl IX facing right, holding a raised sword and the Globus Cruciger. King is inside a double circle with King's motto in inner ring and legend in the outer. Reverse
Crowned flat-topped shield with Greater Arms of Sweden (Three crowns of Sweden in first and fourth quadrant; Folkungs Lion in second and third; smaller shield with Vasa Arms in center), partially within a circle, divides date on either side. Value in letters outside the circle, along the rim.
