- The two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ДВА РУБЛЯ 1996 г.» (TWO ROUBLES 1996), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). - The portrait of Nikolai Nekrasov, to the left - two dates in two lines "1821" and "1878", to the right - a view of the Karabikha estate near Yaroslavl, below - a boy holding by the bridle a horse harnessed to a cart, at the bottom - the poet's facsimile signature, an opened book and a goose quill.
