- Obverse
- The two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «50 РУБЛЕЙ 1996 г.» (50 ROUBLES 1996), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). - A view of the monument to Dmitri Donskoy on the Kulikovo Plain (architect Alexander Bryullov, 1850), below - two swords and a shield, to the left - two birds, to the rigth - the outlines of a church.
