- Obverse
- In the center — the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower — the semicircular inscription — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «СТО РУБЛЕЙ» (HUNDRED ROUBLES), at the bottom —«1999», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right — the fine metal content and the mint trade mark. - To the left — the portrait of A.S.Pushkin, to the right and under it — fairy tale personages of the poem «Ruslan and Ludmila» («an oak on the curved seashore ..», «a trained cat», Ruslan and «the living »head), «the cockerel from a high finial »from the tale «About the Golden Cockerel», lower — an old man with a fish in the seine from the tale «About the Fisherman and the Fish».
