- Head of Queen Elizabeth II, as at 77 years of age, bare headed, wearing necklace and earrings, facing right.
- Reverse
- Shoulder patch of the First Special Service Force (nicknamed the Devil's Brigade) in the centre, with U.S. Star to the left and Canadian Maple Leaf to the right of the patch, over crossed arrows and the year below. Denomination along the edge on the top and unit's name in English and French on the bottom. Designers initials (AB) under maple leaf to right of arrow point.
