Obverse
Legend in Urdu:"Malikah Mu'azzam rafi ud-darjat/ Victoria farman rawai/inglistan/sikkah mubarak" = Auspicious coin of the honoured ruler, exalted in rank, Queen Victoria sovereign of England. The Nagari numerals '17' on the obverse may refer to Vikrama Samvat 1917 (=AD 1860) when the coins with the Queen Victoria legend were first introduced. The numeral 17 is found within the 'nun' of 'farman' on all the coins with the Victoria legend
