Description

½ Gros - Elisabeth of Görlitz from Luxembourg. Issued from 1433 to 1443. Struck in Silver. Measures 22.37 mm and weighs 1.45 g.

Obverse
Large eagle with outstretched wings, head to the left, dividing the legend at 12 o'clock. The talons hold a quartered coat of arms of Bavaria-Palatinate on the right and on the left the Luxembourgish shield with the rampant lion crawling on a field of six pieces. The two crowns divide the legend. Legend between two pearled circles. (Elisabeth of Görlitz, duchess in Bavaria and Luxembourg)
Reverse
Leafy, triple-veined, long cross, dividing the legend and surrounded by a double-veined quadrilobe, decorated with outward-angled leaves and rosettes with re-entrant angles. Legend between two pearled circles. (New currency of Luxembourg)
