- Obverse
- The face value in Hebrew and English, the State emblem, the word Israel in three languages and the inscription "INDEPENDENCE DAY 2005" in Hebrew and English; the branch of a tree is depicted sprouting inwards from the left edge of the coin.
- Reverse
- A densely branched, fruit - bearing tree with strong roots reaching deep underground, as a visual expression of the verse from Psalms "They still bring forth in old age". The inscription 'THE GOLDEN YEARS" appears in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
