Obverse
The left profile of La Fayette, engraved for a monneron in the 17th century by Benjamin Duvivier, is surrounded by the legend: "GÉNÉRAL LA FAYETTE" and the inscription: "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE".
Reverse
A tree surmounted by a Phrygian cap has for foliage the motto: "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ". This adaptation of a drawing by Michel Durand-Megret is crossed by a band bearing the face value.
