1 Chuckram from Kingdom of Travancore. Issued from 1860 to 1880. Struck in Silver. Measures 7 mm and weighs 0.37 g.
- Obverse
- Crescent with diamond above and two curved lines and ten pellets below (some off flan) . The curved lines and pellets are a depiction of 'Vishnupaadam' (feet of Lord Vishnu, a God in Hinduism).
- Reverse
- 12 pellets (some off flan) above a crescent representing the Rasi or the 12 signs of the zodiac. Flowers/sprays below. Travancore was a major center of Black pepper exports from India and there are opinions that the flowers/sprays represent pepper vines. They are more likely lotus flowers associated with the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi
