Description
2 Euros from Italy. Issued in 2016. Struck in Bimetallic: nickel brass clad nickel centre in copper-nickel ring. Measures 25.75 mm and weighs 8.5 g.
- Obverse
- Head of the "David di Donatello", the bronze sculpture from the Museum of the Bargello in Florence. On the left side can be seen the monogram of the Italian Republic "RI" and below two lines of the dates of the anniversary. Above the head the mintmark and at right the letters "CM", initials of the designer Claudia Momoni. The outer ring of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European Union flag.
- Reverse
- A map, next to the face value, shows the European continent without borders.
- Edge
- Finely ribbed with edge lettering: six times the sequence "2 *" alternately upright and inverted.
