In the middle, the image of the Cernavodă bridge, the most important accomplishment of Anghel Saligny; above, the inscription "ROMANIA" and Romania's Coat of Arms; the inscription "PODUL DE LA CERNAVODA", the year of issue "2004" and the face value "500 LEI" are engraved below.

Reverse

The portrait of Anghel Saligny; the inscription "ANGHEL SALIGNY - 150 ANI DE LA NASTERE" is placed circularly on the upper part; the years of birth and death "1854", "1925" are placed on the right of the portrait; below, the facsimile of Anghel Saligny's signature.
