Obverse

Silver inner part - the lyre of poetry, the year of issue "2002" engraved vertically and Romania's Coat of Arms. Gold outer part - above, the inscription "ROMANIA" and below the face value "2000 LEI", both engraved circularly.

Reverse

Silver inner part - portrait of the writer Ion Heliade Rădulescu. Gold outer part - the years of birth "1802" and death "1872" and the inscription "ION HELIADE RADULESCU" engraved circularly; below, the facsimile of the writer's signature.
