- In the middle, Traian's Column; the face value "1000 LEI"; Romania's Coat of Arms; the inscription "ROMANIA" engraved circularly; the year of issue "2001" is inscribed on the lower part.

- Tropaeum Traiani in Adamclisi; below, the years "101-102" of the first Roman-Dacian war; the portraits of Traian and Decebal are engraved on the left and right sides of the monument; the inscription "1900 DE ANI DE LA PRIMUL RAZBOI DACO-ROMAN" is engraved circularly.
