Obverse
Within the square there is depicted a Greek girl dressed in a tunic who is holding a cup with the holographic flame in her right hand and an Olive branch, an ancient symbol of peace in her left hand. Above the square there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine and УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) inscription, under the square - 20 ГРИВЕНЬ (20 Hryvnia); on both sides of the square against the background of the antique meander-line ornament there are the indications of the metal, its fineness and its weight in fineness and the logotype of Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. On the right - 2004, the coin issue year.
Reverse
Against the background of a square there depicted representatives of various f sports, in the middle - a cup with the Olympic flame. Around the square there are the following inscriptions: ІГРИ/ XXVIII ОЛІМПІАДИ (above), OLYMPIC GAMES/ XXVIII (beneath), АФІНИ 2004 (left), ATHENS 2004 (right).
