Obverse

There are the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the semicircular legend: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine); in the center there is depicted the family estate of the Galagans in Sokyryntsi; below - the coin denomination and issue year 10/ГРИВЕНЬ/2009 (10 hryvnias).

Reverse

Against the background of the College building there are depicted some representatives of the Galagan family, namely Kateryna (to the left), Hryhorii (to the right) and Pavlo (his portrait is above within the locket); lower there is the family coat of arms; the coin has the following legends: the semicircular one above КАТЕРИНА 1826-1896 ПАВЛО 1853-1869 ГРИГОРІЙ 1819-1888 (Kateryna Pavlo Hryhorii); under the building - КОЛЕГІЯ/ПАВЛА ҐАЛАҐАНА (College/of Pavlo Galagan) and below - РІД ҐАЛАҐАНІВ (family of the Galagans).
