Obverse

There is the small National Emblem of Ukraine, in the center there is depicted a mason splitting a rock, below there is the coin issue year - 2006, around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: on the silver coin: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) (above), П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (5 Hryvnias) (below), as well the indication of the metal, its fineness and its weight in fineness. On the coin there is also the NBU Mint logotype

Reverse

There is depicted a portrait of Ivan Franko, on either sides of which there are fragments of the stone rock and inscriptions: ІВАН ФРАНКО (Ivan Franko) (on the left) and his years of life - 1856/ 1916 (on the right).
