Portrait left of Prince Jean (1921-), Grand Duke heir of Luxembourg. Behind the head the word 'ESSAI'. On the left the crowned escutcheon of the Bourbons, on the right the escutcheon of Luxembourg surmounted by a crested helm. Initials of the engraver under the cut of the neck. Reverse

Warrior (representing John the Blind) straddling to the right with the crested helmet, brandishing a sword with his right hand and covering himself with a shield with the arms of Luxembourg. Behind him is a banner inscribed with its motto in hollow.
