- Country name in the center around a compass, date and Portuguese coat of arms at the top. Placed at various angles on the compass, the Cross of the Order of Christ symbolize the Portuguese explorations. Eastward to Africa and India, westwards to North America and Brazil.
- Reverse
- Map of the coast of North America and Florida where is placed a cross of the Order of Christ and the name Terra Florida. Under the Tropic of Cancer line, the date 1501 of exploration (Florida is on the Cantino planisphere 1502). Below, a ship, caravel with lateen sail, heads to Florida.
