6 Mark - Karl IX from Sweden. Issued in 1609. Struck in Silver (.821). Measures 43.05 mm and weighs 29.53 g.
- Obverse
- Crowned and armored half-figure of King Karl IX facing right, holding a raised sword in right hand and a shield with Greater Arms of Sweden (Three crowns of Sweden in first and fourth quadrant; Folkungs Lion in second and third; smaller shield with Vasa Arms in center) in the left. King is inside a circle with King's motto on inner side of ring and legend in the outer with date at end. Radiant name of Jehovah in hebrew above King's head. (Karl IX, by the Grace of God, King of Sweden, of the Goths and the Wends God is my comfort)
- Reverse
- The three crowns of the Swedish coat of arms (symbolizing the Kalmar Union) above and at sides of a shield with Folkung lion. All is inside a circle with two lines of legend surrounding divided by beaded boarder. Value in letters below the shield with Folkung lion.
