Description

4 Öre = ½ Mark from Sweden. Issued from 1602 to 1603. Struck in Silver (.625). Measures 30 mm and weighs 4.74 g.

Obverse
Armored bare-headed bust of Prince Karl, with raised right arm holding a scepter behind the shoulder. Prince bust is at top of a crown with below three shield in a triangular frame: above shield with the Three crowns of Sweden at left and a shield with Folkungs Lion at right; behind these two a shield with Arms of the House of Vasa. Shields and King are partially inside a circle with legend outside. The value is on either side of the upper shields. (Karl hereditary prince of Sweden by the Grace of God.)
Reverse
Radiant Hebrew letters for "Jehovah" within inner circle. Legend outside with date at end. (New coin of the Kingdom of Sweden)
