20 Euros from France. Issued in 2002. Struck in Gold (.920). Measures 31 mm and weighs 17 g.
- Obverse
- A magic wand with a scroll of stars and a world of objects related to European children's tales. The face value "20 €", the marks of the monetary workshop and the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ", are in the center of the coin. Underneath, the year "2002", "RF" the name of the issuing state of the French Republic, and the famous beginning of the children's tales "IL ÉTAIT UNE FOIS ...".
- Reverse
- Pinocchio is a children's story created by Carlo Collodi started in 1881. The name of the tale is written at the very top of the piece "PINOCCHIO". In the center from left to right, the representation of Geppetto holding the puppet named Pinocchio (colored part), a shark head threatening to emerge from the sea, the blue goat, the cat and the fox. Further below, logs, carpenter's tools and wood chips with the Greek letter alpha "α" and inside the year "2002".
