Obverse
A magic wand with a scroll of stars and a world of objects related to European children's tales. The face value "20 €", the marks of the monetary workshop and the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ", are in the center of the coin. Underneath, the year "2003", "RF" the name of the issuing state of the French Republic, and the famous beginning of the children's tales "IL ÉTAIT UNE FOIS ...".
Reverse
Hansel and Gretel is a children's story created by the Grimm brothers in 1812. The name of the tale is written at the very top of the piece "HANSEL AND GRETEL". In the center from left to right, the representation of the old witch, the house made of bread or gingerbread, then Hansel and his sister Gretel in color. Below, mushrooms and an oak branch.
