Obverse
A magic wand with a scroll of stars and a world of objects related to European children's tales. The face value "20 €", the marks of the monetary workshop and the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ", are in the center of the coin. Underneath, the year "2003", "RF" the name of the issuing state of the French Republic, and the famous beginning of the children's tales "IL ÉTAIT UNE FOIS ...".
Reverse
Sleeping Beauty is a children's story created by Charles Perrault in 1697. The name of the tale is written at the top of the piece "LA BELLE AU BOIS DORMANT". In the center, the representation of the princess colored asleep with the spindle, the net a cattail, the evil queen and in the background the castle.
