- Obverse
- Left facing bust of Charles I, bust begins at the edge of the coin, mark of value to the right, thistle at the end of the legend. (Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland)
- Reverse
- Crowned royal arms, thistle above the crown, crowned 'C' to the left and crowned 'R' to the right. (What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder)
