Description
50 Euros from France. Issued in 2013. Struck in Gold (.920). Measures 22 mm and weighs 8.45 g.
- Obverse
- The faces on the left are the French President, General De Gaulle, and on the right, the German Federal Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer. Their faces are both turned towards the face value in the center "50 EURO" and the anniversary dates "1963-2013". Under the effigies their respective signatures. Above their heads is inscribed in French "50e ANNIVERSAIRE DU TRAITÉ DE L'ÉLYSÉE" and below it is inscribed in German "ÉLYSÉE-VERTRAG" (Treaty of Elysium). Under this last mention is written the letters "RF".
- Reverse
- The goddess Europa, with her hair blowing in the wind and dotted with stars, is dressed in floating flags, reminiscent of the flags on their poles on the left of the coin. 12 circles with the sign € symbolize the 12 stars of the European flag. The word "EUROPA" on the vertical gives the series its name. The year 2013 and the different are located at the bottom center of the coin.
