Description
Tetarteron - Richard the Lionheart from Kingdom of Cyprus. Issued from 1189 to 1192. Struck in Bronze. Measures 17 mm and weighs 1.03 g.
- Obverse
- Bust of the King facing in front, wearing a crown and loros, and holding cross-sceptre with his right hand and a globus cricuger with his left. Inscription on the left of the figure. Beaded ring on the rim.
- Reverse
- Cross in the centre on a base and three steps and with th latin letters R,E and X attached on the crosses arms. Beaded ring on the rim.
