Tetarteron from Byzantine Empire. Issued from 1187 to 1191. Struck in Bronze. Measures 22 mm and weighs 3.59 g.

Obverse

Christ Emmanuel facing, seated on throne with back, beardless, nimbate with pellet in each limb of nimbus, wearing colobium and possibly pallium, raising right hand in benediction and holding scroll with left hand. Inscriptions on either side of nimbus, along with vertical inscriptions in left and right fields.

Reverse

Isaac Comnenus facing, standing on the left, wearing stemma, clothed with divitision and loros, holding cruciger sceptre with right hand and akakia with left hand; being crowned by right hand of Virgin, standing on right, looking to left, wearing pallium and maphorium. Inscription at top between their heads, and vertical inscriptions in left and right fields. (Isaakios Despotis:"Despot Isaac".)
