Tetarteron from Byzantine Empire. Issued from 1185 to 1191. Struck in Bronze. Measures 23.5 mm and weighs 3.47 g.
- Obverse
- Virgin standing towards right on footstool, nimbate, orans, wearing pallium and maphorium; Hand of God in upper right field. Inscriptions on either side; beaded border.
- Reverse
- Isaac standing facing on dais, wearing stemma, clothed with divitision and chlamys, holding cruciger sceptre with right hand and cruciger globe with left hand; Hand of God in upper right field. Inscriptions on either side; beaded border. (Isaakios Despotis:"Despot Isaac".)
