1 Ryal from England. Issued from 1553 to 1554. Struck in Gold (.995). Measures 35 mm and weighs 7.63 g.
- Obverse
- Mary, armored and holding sword in right hand, left hand on Royal shield, standing facing in ship, adorned with rose, sailing right; M on flag set on stern (Mary by the Grace of God Queen of England France and Ireland 1553)
- Reverse
- Floriated cross with lis at end of each limb and rose on sun in center; in angles, crowned lion passant left; all within tressure of eight arches (This is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes)
