- Crowned and armored half-length bust of King Johann III facing right, holding raised sword over right shoulder and the Globus Cruciger in left hand (symbols of King's Power). Bust is within circle, with legend outside. (Johann III Dei Gratia King of Sweden, of the Goths and the Wends)
- Reverse
- Crowned ornate quartered shield with Greater Arms of Sweden (Three Crowns of Sweden on first and fourth, Folkungs Lion on second and third and seal of the House of Vasa superimposed in the center) within beaded circle. King's motto outside, with date at end divided by the crown's cross. (God our Protector)
