- Obverse
- The Head of the Republic in the form of Ceres is turned to the right. She is situated between a beam and an olive branch, (symbols of the French Republic), under a star. Under the bust, signature of the engraver.
- Reverse
- A Laurel Crown surrounding the face value symbolizing the greatness of the Third Republic. The mint letter is surrounded by a Horn of Plenty symbolizing the Monnaie de Paris and a Pole of the Licenser to symbolize the Republic.
