Description
Æ Fals from Mamluk Sultanate. Issued from 1354 to 1361. Struck in Copper. Measures 18 mm and weighs 2.2 g.
- Obverse
- Design probably representing a portal accosted on both sides of a ringlet surrounded by two points. In the middle a circle surrounded by four dots and two triangles; underneath the whole an ornament.
- Reverse
- Cartouche in the shape of a circle presenting the name of the sultan. Around, inscriptions indicating in particular the workshop; another circle bordering the whole.
