1 Pound - Elizabeth II from Gibraltar. Issued in 2017. Struck in Nickel brass. Measures 22.5 mm and weighs 9.5 g.
- Obverse
- Right facing couped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem, legend and date around (Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen)
- Reverse
- The coat of arms of the Government of Gibraltar which combines that of Her Majesty’s Government and Gibraltar’s own coat of arms. HM Government of Gibraltar coat of arms consists of a quartered shield of which the first and fourth quarters show the passant guardian lions of England. The second quarter features the rampant lion and double treasure Flory counterflory of Scotland and in the third a harp for Ireland. The crest is a guardian lion wearing the St Edward’s Crown and the dexter supporter is a likewise crowned English lion. The sinister is a Scottish unicorn. Gibraltar coat of arms consists of an escutcheon and a three-towered castle under which hangs a golden key. (DIEU ET MON DROIT = God and My Right)
