Description

Æ Dirham from Ayyubid Sultanate of Egypt. Issued from 591 to 608. Struck in Copper. Measures 28.5 mm and weighs 9.99 g.

Obverse
Border is plain circle in pointillate circle. Counterclockwise marginal legend. Bust of prince facing, wearing headdress and cloak with three folds around shoulders. Cloack held together by claps in front loosely hanging down; two horizontal folds shown on sides of clock's open edge. Hair hangs in loose wawes. No beard, no moustache. Right and left of head, counterclockwise legend. Bust is based at lower border of coin, so that marginal legend starts at right side bust, ending at its left side.
