Description
1 Krone from Denmark. Issued in 1748. Struck in Silver (.833). Measures 35 mm and weighs 17.88 g.
- Obverse
- Laureate head of King Frederik V with long and curly hair facing right. Initial of engraver on neck-cut. (Frederik V by the Grace of God....)
- Reverse
- Crowned three-parted shield with arms of Denmark, Norway and Kalmar Union between two branches: one of palm the other of laurel. Below shield a band with the pendant of the Order of the Elephant is twisted with lower part of branches. The pendant divides date in two. Two lines of legend above the shield, the second and smaller is the King's motto. (.... King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths With Prudence and perseverance)
