Description
2 Euros - Franciscus from Vatican City. Issued in 2018. Struck in Bimetallic: nickel brass clad nickel centre in copper-nickel ring. Measures 25.75 mm and weighs 8.5 g.
- Obverse
- The design features the right profile of a portrait of Padre Pio. At the top, from left to right, in semi-circle is the inscription of the issuing country ‘CITTÀ DEL VATICANO’. At the bottom is the inscription ‘Padre Pio’ and at its right the mint mark ‘R’. At the left hand of the design is the year ‘1968’ and at the right is the year of issuance ‘2018’. At the bottom left is the name of the artist ‘P.DANIELE’. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.

- A map, next to the face value, shows the European continent without borders.
- Edge
- Finely ribbed with edge lettering: six times the sequence "2 *" alternately upright and inverted.
