- Obverse
- Portrait on the left of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg from 1964 to 2000 surrounded by the legend and the signature of the engravers. The word Essay in the neck.
- Reverse
- Crowned shield quartered at 1 and 3 of Nassau and at 2 and 4 of Luxembourg, supported by two crowned lions and placed under the purple mantle surmounted by the royal crown, accosted by the year, initials of the engravers under the dexter lion, face value under the shield. The whole surrounded by an interior grenetis and by the legend.
