Double Shekel - Ba'alshallim I from Satrapy of Phenicia. Issued from -425 to -407. Struck in Silver. Measures 28 mm and weighs 28.29 g.
- Obverse
- City-wall with five battlemented towers, before which lies an armed galley. At the stern is a standard, surmounted by a disc and crescent. In exergue are two lions back to back. Above the exergual line the Phoenician letters... cable border.
- Reverse
- Incuse circle and dotted border, within which the King and his charioteer in quadriga, left.; horses galloping; beneath the horses and ibex or wild goat, ineuse, strotehed out towards left., its head turned right. Under the goat a Phoenician iscription (retrograde ?)
