Description
Pseudo-imperial Solidus in the name of Anastasius from Frankish Kingdom. Issued from 491 to 511. Struck in Gold. Measures 21 mm and weighs 4.4 g.
- Obverse
- Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder in right hand and shield decorated with horseman motif in left. (Our lord Anastasius, perpetual august.)
- Reverse
- Victory standing left, holding long jeweled cross; star to right. (Victory of the August.)
