In the center the coat of arms of Portugal surrounded by the name of the country "PORTUGAL", the face value and the year. All around 7 arms of the Ibero-American countries follow one another, they are those of: Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Portugal (in clockwise order).
Reverse
As part of the Ibero-American series, the 12th edition of which this year is based on the theme "Historic Trains", this Portuguese coin highlights the Douro Line train and seeks to promote this railway line - one of the oldest in our country - which runs through a stunning landscape listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Created by plastic artist José Santa-Bárbara, this coin features Portuguese Railways’ emblematic steam locomotive 0186, which still today continues to run on the historic Douro Line between the stations of Régua and Tua, to the delight of tourists and railway enthusiasts.
