Description
2 Euros - Franciscus from Vatican City. Issued in 2020. Struck in Bimetallic: nickel brass clad nickel centre in copper-nickel ring. Measures 25.75 mm and weighs 8.5 g.
- Obverse
- The design features a portrait of Raphael and two angels. At the right, in semi-circle, is the inscription ‘RAFFAELLO SANZIO’. Above the image of the two angels are the years ‘1520’ and ‘2020’ and underneath it is the name of the issuing country ‘CITTA’ DEL VATICANO’. At the bottom is the mintmark ‘R’ and the artist’s name ‘D. LONGO’. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.

- A map, next to the face value, shows the European continent without borders.
- Edge
- Finely reeded with edge lettering: six times the sequence "2 * " alternately upright and inverted.
